Teeth Extraction

  1. Reasons for Tooth Extraction: Tooth extraction is recommended for various reasons, such as severe tooth decay, advanced gum disease, tooth infection, crowding, or an impacted tooth that cannot emerge properly.

  2. Preparation and Anesthesia: Before the procedure, the dentist will examine the tooth and take X-rays to assess the situation. To ensure the patient’s comfort during the extraction, local anesthesia is administered to numb the area around the tooth.

  3. Extraction Process: Using specialized dental instruments, the dentist carefully loosens the affected tooth from its socket in the jawbone. In some cases, a tooth may need to be sectioned into smaller pieces for easier removal.

  4. Simple and Surgical Extractions: There are two types of extractions: simple and surgical. Simple extractions involve visible teeth, easily removed with forceps. Surgical extractions are more complex, involving partially erupted or impacted teeth, requiring an incision and possible bone removal.

  5. Healing Process: The initial healing period typically takes a few days to a couple of weeks. During this time, a blood clot forms in the extraction site, and the gum tissue starts to heal over it.
